We are seeking a committed and skilled Programme Manager/Master Facilitator to oversee the delivery, quality, and continuous improvement of the TrailTherapy programme. This individual will lead frontline facilitators, ensure fidelity to programme standards, cultivate strong community partnerships, and play a central role in training and supporting partner organisations.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: Executive Director / Programme Director
- Supervises: Programme Coordinator, MTB Coach/Mechanic
- Works closely with: Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Specialist
- Collaborates with: Partner organisations, school staff, volunteers, and facilitators
Roles and Responsibilities
Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the implementation of the Trail Therapy across partner sites, ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery in line with PedalForGood’s methodology.
- Serve as the Master Facilitator during key sessions, modelling best practice in group management, trauma-informed facilitation, and youth engagement.
- Provide hands-on support to partner organisations during programme rollout, including observing sessions, offering coaching, and ensuring adherence to the curriculum.
- Ensure the facilitator curriculum remains current, contextually relevant, and aligned with PedalForGood’s programme philosophy and best practice in youth development.
- Review and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure all courses are accurate, engaging, and updated regularly, recommending and implementing improvements where required.
- Collaborate with external facilitators and subject-matter specialists to support the effective delivery of Train-the-Facilitator (TtF) sessions and strengthen overall programme quality.
Team Management & Capacity Building
- Oversee the Programme Coordinator and the MTB Coach/Mechanic, ensuring they are supported, trained, and equipped to perform effectively.
- Coordinate onboarding and ongoing development for facilitators through training modules, practical skill building, and reflective practice.
- Work closely with the MEL partner to align programme delivery with monitoring requirements and quality standards.
- Programme Planning & Operations
- Manage weekly operational planning, including session schedules, logistics, transport coordination, equipment allocation, and risk assessments.
- Ensure all programme materials, lesson plans, and reports are completed timeously by relevant team members.
- Lead the refinement and adaptation of the curriculum as needed, working with the Executive Director/Programme Director and MEL personnel.
Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with schools, community partners, parents, and key local stakeholders.
- Represent the programme at community events, meetings, and stakeholder briefings.
- Identify opportunities for deeper collaboration, programme expansion, and community Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) involvement.
- Collaborate with the MEL specialist to collect data accurately, monitor programme outcomes, and support facilitators in using MEL tools.
- Participate in data reviews and contribute to programme improvements based on findings.
- Ensure session documentation, attendance, and incident reports are completed and submitted.
Administrative & Reporting Duties
- Safeguard compliance with child protection, safety, and organisational policies.
- Prepare monthly programme reports, incident summaries, and facilitator performance insights for the Executive Director/Programme Director.
- Support budget tracking for programme activities and equipment needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Required Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Development, Education, Psychology, Sport Science, Community Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in youth development, community programmes, or sport-for-development environments.
- Proven experience in programme coordination or management.
- Strong facilitation experience, particularly with children or adolescents.
- Valid driver’s licence (Code B) and the ability to travel between multiple sites.
Desired Skills
- Excellent group facilitation and communication abilities, with a strong presence and ability to engage young people.
- Demonstrated leadership capacity, including mentoring and supervising small teams. Strong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding principles.
- Ability to ride a mountain bike confidently; coaching or cycling-related qualifications are an advantage.
- Comfort with digital tools for planning, communication, and reporting.
- Relationship-building skills and the ability to work in diverse community settings.
